Dear Civitan Families,

Due to recent state and local announcements the Civitan Executive Board has decided to cancel the regular spring season. This includes spring flag football, spring cheerleading, spring rec baseball, spring fast pitch softball.

Civitan Financial Losses:

Civitan is financially stable due to the diligent management by our volunteers and board of directors.  Civitan has incurred several large expenses for the season which cannot be recovered.

• Civitan has ordered all baseball uniforms but did not hand them out. This cost was around $25,000.
• All four of concession stands had been stock and ready for the spring season. This cost was around $20,000.
• Insurance for all sports were paid in full. This cost was around $5,000

At this time Civitan is offering three different option for families that have signup for these sports:

Option 1:  Receive a credit for any future sport within Civitan. This credit only applies to the account. Therefore, if there are several participants under the account, it could be used for any of them and must be used within one calendar year (May 1, 2021).

Option 2:  Donate your registration fee to Civitan. Civitan is a 501c3 and we will be able to provide a tax deduction letter.

Option 3:  100% Refund – less the $3 processing fee charged by Sport Connect.  This charge was collected by Sports Connect and not in our possession.

Please contact each director for each respected sport to let them know what you intend to do. The deadline for theses request is May 15^th. If we do not hear from you, we will assume you are taking option 1. Otherwise please contact our directors at the following email:

Refunds:

Currently we are working with Sports Connect to process all refunds. We will keep everyone up-to-date with this process moving forward.

Future:

The Civitan Club of Hendersonville will be offering fall fastpitch softball and fall flag football under their usual schedule. We are currently working with the City Parks Department to investigate the possibility of offer a condensed summer baseball league. If this is something you are interested in participating in, please let our baseball director know.
